As a genre fan, you hate to love him, you love to hate him or you just love him, period. You may feel some kind of way, but regardless, nobody can deny that MICHAEL IRONSIDE is a living legend. And if you’ve ever wanted to be present for an in-depth Q&A with a master of on-camera mayhem, here’s your ‘bucket list-worthy’ chance. Sister organizations MISKATONIC UNIVERSITY and SPECTACULAR OPTICAL, in association with the Fantasia International Film Festival is presenting an evening with Mr. Ironside, moderated by genre film author and producer HEATHER BUCKLEY.
The discussion/Q&A will be taking place in the York Ampitheater at Concordia University in Montreal, on Friday, July 20th, from 5:15 to 6:15 PM.
And if that weren’t enough excitement to make your head explode like a compromised Scanner, you can bop on over to Toronto on August 5th for the “HORROR EXPRESS”, a charter bus tour, guided for 6 hours by no less than filmmaker and horror Renaissance man CHRIS ALEXANDER. The tour is comprised of stops at all the great locations where iconic Canadian genre films such as BLACK CHRISTMAS, THE BROOD and RABID were shot.
Conceived by Spectacular Optical artistic director Kier-La Janisse, the tour will end at the ROYAL CINEMA, for a 35mm screening of the Mark Lester cult classic, CLASS OF 1984! One of the stars, LISA LANGLOIS, will be attending!
If you live in Canada or will be up there during the events, the Ironside talk is free. The bus tour tickets are $70, and the screening is $12 for advance tickets, $14 at the door of the Royal Cinema. Links for tickets and more information are below.
