SWAPPING DEAD Film Festival

SWAPPING DEAD Film Festival:

THE FILM FESTIVAL OF COLLECTORS & CONNOISSEURS OF HORROR, EXPLOITATION AND THE CURIOUS ARTS!

This is a new kind of documentary film festival. Inspired by the collectors of 1980s VHS horror movies, we want to shine a light on the collectors and their obsessive love for movies, music and art. And the cult figures who make this stuff!

  1. Collectors Are Experts
Or at the very least their passion gives them a unique perspective. And it’s fun to watch them talk about the things they love.
  1. Creators Need Love
We can never give directors, composers, artists, and craftspeople enough recognition. Especially underground/cult figures. And even better when they make it personal. And dare we say “obsessive”.
  1. Collectors & Fans Make Movies Too
Modern technology allows everyone to make their own movies now. Take advantage of it. And use your unique perspective as a lover of the Twisted Arts to create something special.

While this is primarily a documentary film festival, the subject matter demands a narrative category too. So we set up Sleazy Shorts for that.

Also we combine the film festival with an actual swap meet element. Screening shorts during the swap. Concluding with a special theater screening in the evening. With special guest appearances and surprises.

Fun. Art. Chaos!
